This course, Books & Culture, is being offered during January 2013 at Gustavus Adolphus College. January term is an interim where students and professors are encouraged to learn experientially by taking a single intensive, usually interdisciplinary course that may fall outside the boundaries of the usual curriculum.
In this course, we will examine our own reading experiences, think about the social dimensions of books and reading, including issues of class and gender, learn about the business of books, and consider the past and the future of the book.
As usual, I am making this an open course, hosted on a free WordPress platform. Please feel free to make use of material found here.
